The funny thing about trauma is that it can speak many different languages and it has a face that you cannot forget. Trauma can take many different forms (emotional, physical, sexual, spiritual, historical, etc.), but when it comes to the individual, trauma makes a home out of the bones and muscles in the body. Clinical psychology tells us that once we can identify and give a voice/face to our traumas they can be dealt with. This series acts as a visual investigation into what my own trauma looks like and my own methodology in coexisting with that trauma over 23 years. With ‘I’M GONNA BE FINE’ I hope to also shed a light on resilience and self-love which for me, have acted as powerful tools to combat that trauma because if it is mentionable, it is manageable.
